| ストロンボリ火山の噴火 | |

ストロンボリ火山(標高926m)は,イタリア最南端シシリー島の北にある面積12.6km2(伊豆大島の7分の1)ほどの小さな火山島で,ブルカノ島の50km北東に位置する.ストロンボリ火山を世界的に有名にしているのは,溶岩のしぶきを数分から数時間おきに噴き上げるストロンボリ型噴火を繰り返しているためである.写真は,標高918mの展望台から北西250mに位置する噴火口の噴火を,日没数分前に運良く撮影したものである. |
