空からみた富士山


 この写真は,富士山の北西上空6000mから撮影したものである.左下のスバルライン五合目駐車場付近には小御岳,山体右側には大沢崩れの深い谷,遠方には伊豆半島がみえる.
 
富士山が特別な存在であることは,見下ろすように眺めても変わらない.まずはその巨大さである.山体の体積は500km3,遠くまでまき散らしたテフラを含めると1000km3にもなる.左後方に見える箱根,右後方の雲の下にみえる愛鷹などは,日本の成層火山としては大型なのだが,それらと比べても群を抜く大きさである.また遮るものなく,長さ10数kmにおよぶ長大なスロープも目を見張る.富士山は空の上からみても,「不二」の山である.
