2000年鳥取県西部地震による周辺横ずれ断層への剪断応カ変化と広義の余震分布

Aftershocks Triggered by Increased Shear Stress on Strike-slip Faults due to the 2000 Tottori-ken seibu Earthquake

2000年鳥取県西部地震(M7.3)では, 本震後, 震源断層沿いの余震以外にも東西にそれぞれ20km以上離れた地域(島根県東部と大山東麓)で地震活動が活発化した. 本震後最大のM5.4の地震も島根県東部で発生した.
図中のカラー表示は, 本震の震源断層運動によって周辺の鉛直横ずれ断層にかかる剪断応力の変化を示している. 暖色系で示される地域では断層がすべりやすくなり, 寒色系の地域ではすべりにくくなる.震源断層から離れた東西の地震活動は, 剪断応力が増加した地域と一致しており,本震による応力変化によってトリガーされた「広義の余震」と考えられる。
震源断層モデルは国土地理院(2001), 震央表示にはTSEIS(鶴岡, 1998), 背景の地形は国土地理院発行数値地図50mメッシュをそれぞれ用いた.赤色の実線は主な活断層を示す(活断層研究会, 1991).
